In my defence, I did say “around” this time every week. +- 18 hours or so is still fine. Patience, grasshopper : p
Besides, my kids are sick and the little one hasn’t stopped crying all day. I think her bones are stretching too, so bad times all around.
Anyway, I don’t have much going on this week, so I guess I’ll pick over a few little dream observations I’ve had for the exceptionally small sample size I’ve been able to remember anything about.
There’s a few really small scenes that stick out:
* Waiting for fast food
* Driving a car through a stop sign and off a stunt jump ramp
* Really “gaying it up” for a crowd
* Comparing notes with my dad re: disciplining our respective children
I don’t think there’s much of a unifying theme. If I had to guess, I suppose an exploration of the self and my temperament? I kinda like the gay stuff in retrospect – it’s reaffirming that I’m not just faking it. If you dream it, that’s as good as true to yourself as you can get, right? But then again, I’ve always been of the opinion that it’s never anyone else’s business, and queerness doesn’t need to be performative. So ultimately it doesn’t mean much.
Was nice to talk to dream!dad though, if nothing else that, since I brought up a counter-point in defence of how I handle frustrations with my children, it indicates a subconscious approval or acceptance? I dunno, I’m not a professional dream analyst, just an incidental hobbyist sleep-haver. But it makes me feel like I’m on the right track, and I like that.
As for the car? Probably just threw that in to keep it from being boring. Don’t want to accidentally fall asleep while already dreaming : p
